How is the surgery performed?
It is performed under local anesthesia, sedation or balanced general anesthesia, when this is performed in conjunction with other procedures. However, the double chin lipo, can be considered an outpatient surgery and quick recovery, 3 punctures of 0.5 cm are performed, under the chin and under the lobes of the ear, there the anesthesia is placed and through cannulas the fat is symmetrically aspirated.

Recovering from neck liposuction
You should be able to return home the same day as your neck liposuction procedure. You will need someone to drive you home. Patients may experience some bruising around the neck as well as swelling. Recovery after neck liposuction involves wearing a neck band for 2 weeks.
Sometimes the doctor will allow you to remove the neck band after only 1 week, depending on how your progress is. You will need to wear the neck band at night for an additional 3 weeks, regardless. Although pain is minimal, most patients take a week off from work or school while wearing the neck band. Pain can usually be controlled with over-the-counter medications

Who is the ideal candidate?
A good candidate for neck liposuction is someone who has fat in the neck that is above the muscles. If the fat is under the muscles, a different surgery may be required. Both men and women can benefit from neck liposuction. If there is also excess loose skin around the neck, neck liposuction may not be the ideal procedure. When you come in for your consultation, the doctor will examine the condition of your neck and review your relevant medical history to help determine which procedure best suits your goals.

During the intervention, small incisions are made in strategic places through which a fine cannula will be inserted to extract excess fat. The incisions are made either just below the chin or behind the ear, in order to be totally imperceptible. The patient notices absolutely nothing as he remains sedated and receives local anesthesia in the neck area, thereby reducing the risks associated with general anesthesia.
Once the fat has been extracted through the cannulas, the area is covered with an elastic compression band that the patient must wear day and night for 3 days. This band is extremely important because it helps the skin to adapt to the new shape of the face. The patient leaves the hospital on the same day of the surgery since by not applying general anesthesia the recovery time is much shorter. You will be able to resume your routine activities almost immediately, avoiding strenuous exercise for a few weeks.
The first days after surgery, it is completely normal to experience swelling and bruising, side effects that subside with the help of the medication prescribed by the plastic surgeon. The results are appreciated immediately, although it is not until a month when they can be seen definitively.
